I got you a notebook to keep notes in. You never know when something like that could come in handy. Granted, there aren't many mysteries here to solve, it could still help in that regard too.

Either way, I really appreciate all you've done for me and our classmates, so the least I could do was pick you up something for Christmas. I hope that our friendship will continue to grow in the coming year.

[This small package contains fingerprint powder and the newest fingerprinting kit. The card is a nondescript one but the handwriting is very neat and formal.

Well I was thinking about going to the ball, but I wasn't exactly sure what I should wear to something like that. So I was wondering if you could help me pick out something. If it's not too much trouble, anyway.

Well, probably nothing too elaborate. I don't think I could pull off anything but simple really. I'm not really sure what kinds of outfits there are really, other than just suit and tie.

For basics, you basically have two options; the suit and tie that you're familiar with, and a tuxedo. The latter is more on the formal side and usually worn with a bow tie, so it's up to your discretion on which one you want to wear.

I've never worn a bow tie, but I think I could probably do that. A ball seems way too formal for just a suit and tie, anyway. Thanks for the suggestion, Kirigiri-san.
